Car Magnet Care & Usage Instructions

Before You Buy

• Test Magnetic Compatibility: Test location with a small refrigerator magnet to confirm it’s magnetic-compatible metal (not aluminum, fiberglass, or plastic)
• Measure the Area: Ensure your magnet size fits the flat surface area without extending sharp curves, body lines, or door edges
• Check Surface Condition: Verify the application area is flat and free from dents, creases, or body panel formations that could prevent full contact

Proper Application

• Clean the Vehicle Surface: Wash and dry the application area, removing all dirt, dust, wax, and debris
• Keep Magnet Clean: Wipe the back of the magnet with a clean, dry cloth to remove any particles. Mild soap and water can be used occasionally.
• Position Carefully: Place the magnet on the clean, dry surface and smooth from the center outward to eliminate air bubbles. Press firmly across the entire magnet surface to ensure complete adhesion with no lifted edges or corners.
• Avoid Creases and Curves: Do not place magnets over body lines, door handles, trim pieces, or curved surfaces

Regular Maintenance

• Remove Weekly: Take the magnet off at least once per week to clean both the vehicle surface and the back of the magnet
• Dry Thoroughly: Always dry both surfaces completely to prevent moisture buildup that can damage paint or weaken the magnetic hold
• Reposition Occasionally: Move the magnet slightly to prevent potential paint fading differences from sun exposure

Important Precautions

• Remove Before Car Washes
• Avoid Extreme Conditions—Don’t drive with magnets in the rain or severe weather conditions
• Check After Rain to ensure water hasn’t gotten underneath, which could damage your paint or allow the magnet to slide off
• Remove magnets when the vehicle is parked for extended periods or when not actively advertising
• Wait at least 90 days after new paint or clear coat before applying magnets

Storage Guidelines

• Store Flat: Keep magnets in a cool, dry location stored flat (not rolled or folded).
• Avoid Direct Sunlight: Store away from heat sources and direct sunlight to maintain magnetic strength and prevent warping
• Stack Carefully: If stacking multiple magnets, place them facing in the same direction and add protective material between them to prevent scratching

Troubleshooting

• Magnet Won’t Stick: Surface may be aluminum or a non-magnetic material; try a different panel
• Edges Lifting: Clean both surfaces thoroughly and ensure no air bubbles or debris underneath. Replace if the magnet edge is stretched 
• Magnet Slides: Remove, clean, dry completely, and reapply. Ensure the surface is completely flat and has sufficient steel.
